Rite of passage

To rediscover the meaning that a soul, a being, wishes to give to its existence, to free itself from what has been learned in order to remember what cannot be forgotten.

A ceremonial space and time, with no religious connotations, to mark, celebrate and become aware of a stage of life or a call of the conscience.

Numerous creation myths mention a descent into the abyss to find the raw material, the prima materia, that will give birth to the world or its renewal. The rite of passage makes this descent and creation possible, providing the initiation that gives rise to a new state.

And if, as Michael Meade puts it, "a human being is an arrangement of flesh, bones, muscles, viscera and instincts assembled around a dream that was placed there long before birth", then rites of passage serve to plunge one back into that dream when one has drifted away from it.

By losing, in the modern world, the ability to mark life's passages in a meaningful way, we have lost our capacity to be mythic, the bearer and actor of myth. No matter how much or how little an individual has experienced, if he falls out of touch with his own history, he will no longer know who he is or the values he wishes to cultivate; he will no longer be able to make sense of his own death or act for the good of all.

The Vision Fast (Vision Quest)* is an archaic rite of passage, adapted to today's times, which takes place in nature and with nature's help. It enables us to rediscover our legend, our inner story, as life initiates us.

It's only when we live our destiny to the full that our talents manifest themselves and can be shared, for the benefit of all within a community. This is why the Vision Fast is based on belonging - to the living and to the community. It's a ritual from which the initiate emerges strengthened and stimulated in his or her sense of values and responsibilities.

To say a resounding YES to life, consciously, with fullness and wisdom, sacrifice if need be.

A unique way to renew our sense of the sacred and assimilate life's experiences.

We welcome all inquiries on this subject.

*The Vision Quest, or Vision Fast, is a pan-cultural and ancestral ceremony that consists of going into exile in Nature, alone, without food or shelter, to listen to and revisit one's personal history, to mark a passage, an event, a transition, a stage of life.

Fasting solos are 24h00 or 4 days and 4 nights long, accompanied by talking circles, preparation before and integration after the solo.
